Music , the mystery we long to live

Can you touch, taste or see music? Can anyone own music?
Music is freedom and we long to live it!

The psalmist says: "Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a shout of joy". To anyone who has ever found joy in playing an instrument or writing a song, doesn't this saying from ancient times apply now and stand timeless. Each day new songs are written, each day someone discovers for the first time the joy of playing an instrument, or hearing a song that speaks to them.

Music is a gift. How can we think that we somehow own music or even a small genre of music. Some of the best songs written in the world have never been heard beyond those who composed them. The beauty of this free gift of music is that each unique personality can express itself and enter into realms not entered by any human craft. Music can be a doorway to worlds beyond our physical realm, music allows us to fly into a world outside of ourselves.

We each have the freedom to honor the Creator with this free gift, or selfishly dishonor all of creation, with a misuse of a free gift. Thank God for music, I believe it is a necessary component for every human being in some way. Similar to being a created being by a Creator, we are able to enjoy the process of unfolding this gift of music and paint new songs with our own choice of colors.
